History - Established 1989

Created in February 1989, the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon honors Navy personnel who carry out a three-year tour with one of the Navy’s Major Recruiting Commands.

The award may be granted for service retroactive to July 1, 1973.

Details

The ribbon is yellow and is bisected by a thin vertical red line flanked on either side by thin dark blue stripes; a thin green stripe appears toward the center on each side as well as a thicker dark blue stripe toward each edge.

Subsequent awards may be indicated by service stars, and bronze numerals may be issued to indicate exceptional performance.
