Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal 1C Medal

History - Established 1953

Established in 1953, the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal recognizes non-combat service by foreign military personnel who assisted in cadre training of Vietnamese units. The 1C version is granted to officers; non-commissioned officers and other enlisted awardees receive the 2C version.

The former Republic of South Vietnam created a series of awards to honor military members and civilians who carried out service on behalf of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War and related operations between 1949 and 1974. As the nation no longer exists, the awards are considered obsolete.
