History

The Oregon National Guard Superior Unit Ribbon honors Oregon National Guard units that carry out exceptional service in a manner that sets them apart from their peers.

The Oregon National Guard is composed of the Oregon Army National Guard and the Oregon Air National Guard. The Army component traces its roots back to 1843 and maintains 41 armories across 33 communities in the state. The Air component was founded in 1940 with the 123d Observation Squadron. It is currently based in Salem and is made up of the 142d Fighter Wing and 173rd Fighter Wing.

Details

The ribbon is dark blue with one vertical golden yellow stripe toward each edge. It features a gold frame with a leaf pattern.
