Created in February 1989, the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon honors Navy personnel who carry out a three-year tour with one of the Navy’s Major Recruiting Commands.
The award may be granted for service retroactive to July 1, 1973.
The ribbon is yellow and is bisected by a thin vertical red line flanked on either side by thin dark blue stripes; a thin green stripe appears toward the center on each side as well as a thicker dark blue stripe toward each edge.
Subsequent awards may be indicated by service stars, and bronze numerals may be issued to indicate exceptional performance.
