History

The World War II D-Day Commemorative Ribbon is intended to recognize members of the United States Armed Forces who carried out service in D-Day activity on June 6 of 1944.

Details

The medal features the image of naval craft approaching a beach. Text on the upper portion of the medal reads “D-DAY JUNE 6 1944.” The ribbon is bisected by three thin vertical stripes of blue, white, and red flanked by a larger section of green to the right and light blue to the left. On each edge are thin vertical stripes of black, white, and red proceeding inward.
