History

The Alabama National Guard Active Duty Basic Training Ribbon recognizes Alabama National Guard personnel who have completed an active duty training course honorably after the year 1955.

Comprised of the Alabama Air National Guard and the Alabama Army National Guard, the Alabama National Guard is approximately 11,000 members strong as of 2006. It traces its origins back to militia activity during the War of 1812, and the Air component was officially added in 1917 with the inception of the 106th Aero Squadron.

Details

The ribbon features a white center flanked by a red vertical stripe of equal size on either side and yellow edging.
