History
The Navy Superior Public Service Award honors private citizens who make notable contributions toward the mission of the Department of the Navy in a broad context. It may be bestowed upon entrepreneurial or scientific leaders, civic workers, or individuals in other fields.
Details
The medal is silver and features an image of the Navy Seal encircled by an inscription reading “DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY - UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.” The reverse features inscriptions reading “AWARDED TO [NAME OF RECIPIENT]” and “SUPERIOR PUBLIC SERVICE” as well as a spray of laurel. The ribbon is divided into equal sections with dark blue on the right and white on the left.
