The Louisiana National Guard Retention Ribbon honors Louisiana National Guard members who demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in retention efforts, personnel management, or other human resources issues. It may also be awarded to individuals who provide noteworthy contributions to the Family Assistance or Employer Support Programs.
The Louisiana National Guard Medal of Honor recognizes Louisiana National Guard members who carry out acts of heroism, valor, or gallantry in a manner to set themselves apart from their peers and typically involving risk of life. To be eligible, the awardee's whole term of service must have been honorable. The medal may only be awarded to an individual once.
The Louisiana National Guard Longevity Medal honors Louisiana National Guard members who carry out honorable service for a term of five years, beginning on or subsequent to July 1, 1949 and including active Federal service.
The Louisiana National Guard Legion of Merit Ribbon honors Louisiana National Guard members who set themselves apart from their peers through outstanding performance in significant positions and for service in excess of normal expectations or duties.
The Louisiana National Guard General Excellence Medal honors current or former Louisiana National Guard members who carry out four uninterrupted years of service honorably and demonstrate generally faithful and exemplary behavior without incurring disciplinary action.
The Louisiana National Guard Emergency Duty Ribbon honors Louisiana National Guard members who carry out service in the event of an emergency or other crisis as designated by the Governor.
The Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Service Medal honors Louisiana National Guard members who demonstrate excellence in carrying out duties of particular responsibility or significance on behalf of Louisiana and in such a manner as to set themselves apart from their peers.
The Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Service Cross honors Louisiana National Guard members who execute acts of heroism while carrying out honorable service, typically involving risk of life but of a lesser degree than would warrant the Louisiana Medal of Honor.
