The New York National Guard Physical Fitness Ribbon honors New York National Guard members who earn a score of 290 or higher subsequent to October 1, 1992 on an officially administered Physical Fitness Test.
New York National Guard Military Commendation Medal
The New York National Guard Military Commendation Medal Ribbon honors New York National Guard Members who demonstrate heroism or otherwise exceptional service of a lesser nature than what would warrant the Medal for Meritorious Service but which nonetheless distinguishes recipients from their peers.
New York National Guard Meritorious Service
The New York National Guard Meritorious Service Ribbon honors New York National Guard members who, subsequent to April 17, 1979, demonstrated exceptional service or heroism of a lesser nature than would warrant the Medal of Valor, typically involving risk of personal injury.
New York National Guard Medal of Valor
The New York National Guard Medal of Valor Ribbon honors New York National Guard members who perform exceptional acts of bravery or heroism in excess of the normal standards for duty and typically involving the risk of life.
New York National Guard Medal of Merit
The New York National Guard Medal of Merit Ribbon honors members of the New York National Guard who demonstrated sustained honorable comportment throughout the duration of their service and who were presented with a commendation or award lesser than the Conspicuous Service Cross, or who directly supported combat on behalf of one of the branches of the United States Armed Forces.
New York National Guard Long and Faithful Service
The New York National Guard Long and Faithful Service Ribbon honors New York National Guard members who fulfill qualifying terms of service in an honorable manner and with an attendance rate of at least 90 percent for scheduled assemblies.
New York National Guard Humane Service Medal
The New York National Guard Humane Service Medal Ribbon honors New York National Guard Members who demonstrate sustained commendable service in the event of natural disaster relief or other designated humane proceedings in response to an order from the Governor of New York.
New York National Guard Exercise Support
The New York National Guard Exercise Support Ribbon honors New York National Guard Members who carried out service in the field subsequent to January 1, 1979 for a period of no fewer than three days consecutively. Eligible exercises are those directed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
New York National Guard Desert Storm Service Medal
The New York National Guard Desert Storm Service Medal honors New York National Guard Members who carried out service supporting Operation Desert Storm or Operation Desert Shield, beginning in August of 1990 and extending to the termination of those operations.
