Created on September 4, 2014 by the Secretary of the United States Air Force, the Air Force Special Duty Ribbon recognizes Air Force personnel who successfully complete certain special duty assignments.

The eligible special duty assignments follow below. The award may not be granted retroactively.

-Airman and Family Readiness Center NCO
-Career Assistance Advisor
-Commander, USAFA Cadet Squadron
-First Sergeant
-Honor Guard
-Military Training Instructor
-Military Training Leader
-Professional Military Education Instructor
-Recruiter
-Training Commander, OTS
-Training Instructor, Core AFSC

Details

The ribbon features thin stripes of gray, red, and graphite blue, with larger stripes of white and ultramarine blue.

Oak leaf clusters are used to indicate additional instances of the award.
