Coast Guard Expert Rifle Ribbon Ribbon

The Coast Guard Expert Rifle Ribbon accompanies the Marksmanship Medal, which is the highest award for weapons achievement. It is comparable to the Army and Marine Corps’ Expert Marksmanship Badge and is bestowed upon Coast Guard members who achieve a qualifying score as an expert marksman with a M16 rifle through an approved course.
Details
The medal is is the shape of a shield and features crossed rifles, a target, and an inscription reading “U.S. COAST GUARD EXPERT.” The ribbon is dark blue with a thin vertical white stripe toward each edge and two toward the center.
For those who qualify as sharpshooters, a silver “S” device may be issued.
