History - Established 1984

Established in 1984, the Coast Guard Sea Service Ribbon honors Coast Guard members who carry out service for a minimum agglomerate term of one year aboard a Coast Guard cutter, with a Fleet Training Group, or aboard other qualifying seacraft.

Details

The ribbon features a thin vertical white stripe in the center followed by a thin stripe of light blue, dark blue, yellow, red, and black increasing in thickness and proceeding outward on each side.

Subsequent three-year terms of service may be indicated by service stars.
