History - Established 1967

Created on July 17, 1967, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon honors Navy and Marine Corps units that distinguish themselves through outstanding service or feats of valor of a nature that would warrant the Bronze Star if undertaken individually or of a comparable individual award if performed under circumstances not involving combat.

Details

The ribbon is bisected by a thin vertical light blue stripe flanked on either side by a thin white stripe, a thick green stripe, a thin white stripe, and a thin dark blue stripe proceeding outward.

Subsequent awards may be indicated by service stars.
