The Nebraska National Guard Emergency Service Ribbon honors Nebraska National Guard members who carry out service honorably in the event of an emergency or other crisis as determined by the Governor.
The Nebraska National Guard is composed of the Nebraska Army National Guard and the Nebraska Air National Guard. The Army component originated in 1854 and currently numbers approximately 3,700, making its headquarters in Lincoln. Established in 1946, the Air component numbers around 950 and is also headquartered in Lincoln; it consists of the 155th Air Refueling Wing and the 170th Group.
The ribbon is dark blue with two gray stripes toward the exterior, each bisected by a thin yellow vertical stripe. In the center is an alternating pattern of thin gray and yellow stripes.
