History

The Nevada National Guard Governor’s Outstanding Unit Award honors Nevada National Guard units that carry out noteworthy service in such a manner as to set themselves apart from other units.

The Nevada National Guard is composed of the Nevada Army National Guard and the Nevada Air National Guard. The Army component numbers approximately 2,500 and is based in Carson City. The Air component, established in 1948, numbers around 1,100; it is currently based in Fallon and consists of the 152d Airlift Wing and the support units 232d Operations Squadron and 92d Civil Support Team.

The ribbon is gray and is bisected by a thin horizontal blue stripe; it features a gold frame with a leaf pattern.
