The Oregon National Guard Emergency Service Medal honors Oregon National Guard members who carry out at least three days of service in the event of a state emergency or other crisis as determined by the Governor.
The Oregon National Guard is composed of the Oregon Army National Guard and the Oregon Air National Guard. The Army component traces its roots back to 1843 and maintains 41 armories across 33 communities in the state. The Air component was founded in 1940 with the 123d Observation Squadron. It is currently based in Salem and is made up of the 142d Fighter Wing and 173rd Fighter Wing.
The ribbon is red with a thin vertical golden yellow stripe toward each edge.
