The Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Unit Citation was awarded by the Vietnamese government to members and units of the United States Armed Forces who performed meritorious service on behalf of Vietnam between the dates of March 1, 1961 and March 28, 1974.
The medal is a bronze star with eight points, alternating lined and unlined. The center of the medal features an image of a child, a soldier, and a farmer holding a shovel. A ring of white enamel encircles the image and a gold inscription reads “DAN-VU” at the top and “BOI-TINH” at the bottom.
The first class ribbon is green with two thin vertical red stripes in the center and a thicker red stripe on each edge. The second class ribbon omits the thin stripes. The unit version features a gold frame with a leaf pattern. It is worn with a palm when issued at the Armed Forces level, a Gold Star at the Corps level, a Silver Star at the Division level, and a Bronze Star at the Regiment or Brigade levels.
