Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon
History - Established 1962
Established on August 28, 1962, the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon is the lone Air Force award to recognize marksmanship. It honors individuals who achieve expert qualification on the duty pistol, M4 carbine, or M16 rifle. Before the creation of the ribbon, achievement in marksmanship was recognized with the Air Force Small Arms Marksmanship Certificate of Achievement.
Details
The ribbon is green with a thin vertical yellow line toward each edge and gray edging.
Subsequent awards may be indicated by service stars.
