History

The World War II 50th Anniversary Commemorative Ribbon is intended to recognize all those United States military members who carried out honorable service in World War II.

Details

The medal features a right facing eagle grasping arrows and encircled by a wreath of laurels. On a ring of blue enamel, text reads “50TH ANNIVERSARY OF WORLD WAR II.” The ribbon is divided into thirds; the left and right feature symmetrical thin vertical stripes beginning with red in the center and proceeding outward in rainbow order on each side. The central section is red with three thin white vertical stripes separated by one blue and one red stripe of the same size’ this section is bordered by a thin vertical white stripe on each side.
