History

The World War II Victory in Europe 50th Anniversary Commemorative Ribbon is intended to recognize members of the United States Armed Forces who carried out service in the European theater during World War II.

Details

The medal features a large block “V” in the center with the text “50th ANNIVERSARY” over it and “VICTORY IN EUROPE 1945-1995” appearing above it. Laurel leaves frame each side of the medal, and the flags of the Allied nations appear on the bottom of the medal. The ribbon is green and is bisected by thin vertical stripes of blue, white, and red. On the right edge are thin vertical stripes of green, white, and red proceeding inward, and on the left edge are thin vertical stripes of white, black, and white proceeding inward.
