Alaska National Guard Brig. Gen. John R. Noyes Medal

The Alaska National Guard Brig. Gen. John R. Noyes Medal Ribbon is presented annually to a member of the Alaska Army National Guard who demonstrates superior performance compared to his or her peers. Comprised of the Alaska Army National Guard and the Alaska Air National Guard, the Alaska sector of the United States National Guard numbers approximately 2,300 air guardsmen and 2,000 army guardsmen as of 2008. It operates an anti-missile launch site at Fort Greely.
