History

The Arkansas National Guard Exceptional Service Ribbon honors Arkansas National Guard personnel who have carried out their service with a high degree of excellence and effectiveness.

Approximately 8,000 soldiers are currently serving in the Arkansas Army National Guard, whose training facilities are located near For Smith and in North Little Rock. It was founded in 1804 as a Territorial Militia. The Arkansas Air National Guard, estimated at 2,500 members as of 2009, is based in North Little Rock and dates back to 1917.

Details

The ribbon is divided into equal thirds of red, white, and red. The red sections are bisected by a thin vertical white stripe.
