History - Established 1963

Established in 1963, the Coast Guard Reserve Good Conduct Medal honors Coast Guard Reservists who honorably complete a tour of three years of service without disciplinary action; it is comparable to the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal.

Details

The medal is bronze and features the Coast Guard Seal encircled by an inscription reading “UNITED STATES COAST GUARD RESERVE.” The ribbon is bisected by a thin vertical white stripe flanked on either side by a thin dark blue stripe, a thick red section, and one thin yellow stripe and one thin dark blue stripe proceeding outward.

Subsequent awards may be indicated by service stars.
