History - Established 1998

Established in March of 1998, the Navy Recruit Training Service Ribbon honors Navy personnel who carry out satisfactory service as a Recruit Division Commander as well as finishing a basic training tour with the Navy Bureau of Education and Training. The following stipulations for eligible tours of duty apply:

-A minimum of three years of service
-No disciplinary action
-Command of a minimum of five divisions

Support personnel do not qualify. The award may be granted for service retroactive to October of 1995.

Details

The ribbon is bisected by a thick vertical red stripe flanked on either side by a dark blue stripe and a thin yellow stripe proceeding outward.

Subsequent awards may be indicated by service stars.
