The Texas National Guard Enlisted Basic Training Ribbon honors Texas National Guard members who successfully complete a Basic Training course.
The Texas National Guard is composed of the Texas Army National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. The Army component dates back to a militia established by Sam Houston in 1835; it currently numbers approximately 19,000 and operates 117 armories. The Air component, headquartered in Austin, traces back to the 111th Aero Squadron formed in 1917 in support of World War I efforts.
The ribbon is green and features two thin bands of blue, white, and red adjacent in the center proceeding from right to left.
