History

The United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia Medal honors those who assisted in implementing and maintaining peacekeeping operations, elections, the resettlement of displaced Cambodians, and general law and order following the Paris Peace Accords that ended the Cambodian-Vietnamese War.

Details

The medal is bronze and features the United Nations emblem of a globe encircled by a laurel wreath. The letters “UN” appear at the top of the medal, and the reverse reads “IN THE SERVICE OF PEACE.” The ribbon is bisected by a thin white vertical stripe flanked on either side by a thinner red stripe and followed by stripes of light blue, thinner dark blue, and thicker green proceeding outward.
