The Vermont National Guard Active Duty for Training Ribbon honors Vermont National Guard members who satisfactorily complete an Active Duty Training Course.
The Vermont National Guard is made up of the Vermont Army National Guard and the Vermont Air National Guard, also referred to as the Green Mountain Boys. The Army component numbers approximately 3,000 soldiers and dates back to militia activity in the mid-eighteenth century. The Air component, based in South Burlington and numbering around 1,000 airmen and women, traces its roots to the 67th Fighter Wing, formed officially in October of 1946.
The ribbon is divided into three equal sections with white in the center and red on either side; it also features yellow edging.
