History

The Vietnam War Disabled Veterans Commemorative Medal is intended to recognize those members of the United States military who are disabled as a result of their service in the Vietnam War.

Details

The medal features the figure of an individual in a wheelchair superimpose over a shield in the United States colors. The shield is framed by a green laurel wreath, and an inscription reads “Disabled Veterans of The Vietnam War.” The ribbon features four yellow vertical stripes alternating with three thinner red stripes, as well as thin vertical stripes of red, white, and blue on each edge.
