Established in 1962, the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal honors Navy Reservists who carry out three (from 1997 onward) or four (prior to 1997) years of honorable service, including a minimum attendance rate of 85 percent at all scheduled drills.

NATO Training Mission Iraq

The NATO Training Mission Iraq Medal honors military members and civilians who carried out service in NATO’s Training Mission to help develop Iraqi training infrastructure to ensure the country’s peacekeeping abilities and to meet its needs as a nation. The mission lasted from 2004 to 2011; the United States contributed 60 instructors as well as support, logistics, and a protection company.

NATO ISAF Medal

The NATO ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) Medal honors military members and civilians who have carried out service on behalf of the International Security Assistance Force in an eligible area. To qualify, individuals must be part of designated Joint Operations Area units and must have carried out 30 days of service in Afghanistan, consecutive or agglomerate, in ISAF operations.

Multi-national Force and Observers Medal

Established on March 24, 1982, the Multinational Force and Observers Medal Ribbon honors United States Armed Forces members who carried out a minimum of 90 days of service (the minimum term was increased to 170 days in 1985) cumulatively as part of the Multinational Force and Observers, which endeavored to maintain a ceasefire zone between Egypt and Israel following the Yom Kippur War.
