Established on August 22, 1997, the Armed Forces Civilian Service Medal honors civilian employees of the Department of Defense who provide support to military forces or who participate in long-term peacekeeping or humanitarian operations under similar circumstances as members of the uniformed military.

Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award

The second-highest award granted to civilians, the Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award Medal is approved at the MAJCOM level. World War II Victory

Established on July 6, 1945, the World War II Victory Medal Ribbon honors members of the United States Armed Forces who carried out duty between the dates of December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946 inclusive. It was initially awarded as a ribbon alone, with the addition of the medal in 1946.
