Established on July 6, 1945, the World War II Victory Medal Ribbon honors members of the United States Armed Forces who carried out duty between the dates of December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946 inclusive. It was initially awarded as a ribbon alone, with the addition of the medal in 1946.
Established on April 5, 1946, the World War II Occupation Medal Ribbon honors United States Army and Air Force members who carried out occupation service in Austria, Germany, Italy, or Japan following World War II.
