Established in 1980, the Missouri National Guard Adjutant General’s Twenty Ribbon honors Missouri National Guard members who distinguish themselves through excellent marksmanship. It is presented to individuals whose performances rank among the top 20 each year at the state’s rifle and pistol championships. Initially, awards were divided among eight riflemen, and pistolmen, two sniper shooters, and two machine gunners. Now, however, there are no category limits.
The Coast Guard Expert Rifle Ribbon accompanies the Marksmanship Medal, which is the highest award for weapons achievement.
The Alaska National Guard Adjutant General’s Marksmanship Proficiency Award Ribbon is presented to the top ten guardsmen performers at the Alaska National Guard Adjutant General's match, a designation awarded in the respective categories of rifle and pistol marksmanship. Winners of the award are invited to compete for the Chief’s Fifty Marksmanship Badge at the national competition.
The Navy Expert Rifle Ribbon accompanies the Marksmanship Medal, which is the highest award for weapons achievement. It is comparable to the Army and Marine Corps’ Expert Marksmanship Badge and is bestowed upon Coast Guard members who achieve a qualifying score as an expert marksman with a M16 rifle through an approved course.
The Navy Expert Pistol Ribbon accompanies the Marksmanship Medal, which is the highest award for weapons achievement. It is comparable to the Army and Marine Corps’ Expert Marksmanship Badge and is bestowed upon Navy members who achieve a qualifying score as an expert marksman with a 9x19mm Beretta M9 or .40 S&W SIG P229 DAK through an approved course.
